Welcome to Mulligans Creamery, a super-premium ice cream shop in Southern Pines, proudly serving families, friends, and golfers from Pinehurst, Aberdeen, and beyond.
We’re Greg and Dawn, and we built Mulligans because we believed this area needed a true destination for small-batch, ultra-creamy, top-shelf ice cream—the kind of place people come back to again and again.

The goal was simple: create the kind of neighborhood spot this area deserved— warm, memorable, playful, and genuinely delicious.

Our story
We’ve always loved ice cream, and ever since we bought our home in Pinehurst, one thought kept coming back:
This area deserves a real, super-premium ice cream shop.
Not just a place to grab dessert—but a place that feels like an experience. A place where families can stop in after dinner. A place where golfers can swing in for a scoop after 18 holes. A place where you can laugh, relax, treat yourself, and decide that yes… one more scoop is absolutely the right call.
Mulligans Creamery is an inviting “Golf Themed” dessert destination offering a diverse menu of super-premium ice creams, sorbets, and frozen treats also offering dairy-free and vegan options.

Mulligans Creamery provides high-quality, handcrafted ice cream, and a delightful experience for our customers. We aim to create a welcoming and family-friendly environment where individuals can indulge in delicious, super premium ice cream creations made with love and the finest ingredients.
Years in the making
It took us years to find the right location, but we never let go of the vision. We stayed patient, kept searching, and finally found the right place to bring this wonderful ice cream shop and experience to life.
That long search only made the mission clearer: create a destination worthy of the area, and a shop people will be excited to share with family and friends.
Why “mulligans”?
In golf, a mulligan is a friendly do-over. In our shop, it means something just as fun: treating yourself without keeping score.

We want more people to be able to enjoy the experience, which means offering dairy-free and vegan options that never feel like a backup plan.
These are meant to be rich, satisfying, and genuinely crave-worthy—the kind that make people say, “Wait… this is vegan?”
About Us
Greg and Dawn are a husband-and-wife team, who love the Pinehurst area. In fact, they had their “Golf Themed” Wedding at the Pinehurst Resort. Exchanging vows overlooking Pinehurst #2. Followed by a Golf Outing on #5 – their home course and fabulous evening party at the Fair Barn including an Ice Cream Sundae Bar for dessert. Their honeymoon was spent golfing at Erin Hills, Sand Valley and Whistling Straits. Avid golfers who love Ice Cream and the golf community of Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and the surrounding areas.
Fun Fact: In June of 2025, Greg and Dawn played in the Bandon Dunes Summer Solstices. 72 holes in one long day – 24,847 yards, Par – 286, and almost 25 miles of walking: there are no carts at Bandon.
Greg Michas
Founder and CEO/CTO
Greg Michas is the co-founder of Mulligans Creamery and brings a unique mix of hospitality, know-how, business leadership, and hometown heart. He got his start in Hotel Restaurant Management and built years of hands-on experience in food service, working in settings that ranged from supermarkets to corporate environments. Along the way, he developed a strong foundation in customer service, quality, and smooth day-to-day operations. Later, Greg transitioned into the Technology world and founded his own Managed Service Provider (MSP) company, where he became known for bringing people together, strengthening operations, and helping organizations work smarter. Today, he brings that same energy, vision, and love for community to Mulligans Creamery—a place where great ice cream, friendly faces, and local connection all come together.
Dawn Spring
Founder
Dawn Spring is the co-founder of Mulligan’s Creamery, a dream years in the making built around family, community, and creating memorable experiences. With more than 20 years of leadership, she has built her career around service, connection, and people-first growth. Dawn is a results-oriented leader with a proven record of advancing strategic objectives, supporting business growth, and building client-centric cultures. Her leadership style combines a growth mindset with a strong commitment to exceptional customer experience. Dawn has held customer experience leadership roles at Peloton, Louis Vuitton, Oticon, Chanel, and Tiffany & Co., and holds a BS and MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.
Mulligans Creamery brings together two things Greg and Dawn – the husband-and-wife team behind Mulligans – truly love: great ice cream and the golf community of Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Carthage, Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
