 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. +4We decided to check out Mulligans Creamery for a little late-night ice cream and overall had a good first visit.

The shop is new, clean, bright, and has plenty of seating inside. There’s also a nice grab-and-go area with ice cream cakes, pints, bottled sodas and a few other treats. The golf theme fits the area perfectly without being overdone, and there is plenty of parking outside.

The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and were happy to let me sample a flavor before ordering. I tried the caramel apple ice cream and liked it enough to get it in one of their house-made waffle cones. My wife went with the Raspberry Lemon Italian Ice in a cup, and my son got chocolate in a cup. They have a pretty impressive selection—32 rotating flavors, including dairy-free, vegan and no-sugar-added options.

My only real complaint was that my ice cream was softer and more melted than the firmer hard-scoop ice cream I normally prefer. Some people may actually prefer that softer consistency, but personally I like my ice cream a little more frozen and firm.

Our total was about $23 for the three of us, which felt a little on the high side compared with some other ice cream spots around the area. That said, you’re paying for a premium ice cream shop, a large flavor selection and a nice place to sit down and enjoy it.

For those of us in Carthage and Whispering Pines, the location is definitely convenient. It’s at 439 Capital Drive near the airport, in front of Provision Ace, so you don’t necessarily have to head toward Southern Pines or Pinehurst when you want an evening ice cream run.

We’ll definitely give Mulligans another try—and with 32 flavors rotating through the case, I suppose that’s exactly what a “mulligan” is for.

That didn’t stop the friendly conversation with the owner and his wife about their passion for ice cream. The best part, my son and I got to sample some! They have over 32 flavors! Definitely the richest and creamiest ice cream in Moore County!
10/10 recommend checking them out next Friday when they officially open their doors!

As someone with an ice cream cone tattoo, I couldn't be more pleased with the staff, cleanliness & variety of this ice cream shop!! The old school sodas in the original bottles are super fun and delicious - the cream soda & the root beer are my faves! The creaminess of the ice cream is unlike any other around here.
